One half of Istanbul based interior design and architecture duo Autoban, Seyhan Özdemir knows all about Turkey’s largest and most famous city; in particular its architectural and design highlights.

Having been named “Best Young Designers” by Wallpaper* magazine in 2004 and “Best Newcomer” by Blueprint magazine the following year, Seyhan Özdemir and Sefer Çağlar have overseen the inspirational design of restaurants, stores and hotels around the world; including 208 Duecento Otto, The House Hotel Galatasaray and The House Hotel Nisantası, all featured recently by The Brief.

Old Architecture;

Hagia Sophia is one of the greatest surviving examples of Byzantine architecture, located in Sultanahmet, the old part of Istanbul.

The Basilica Cistern (Yerebatan Sarnıcı) – Sultanahmet

Museums & Galleries;

Santral Istanbul - The Santral Engery Museum – the old electricity station – is also worth quick look whilst you’re there.
